ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nevada Volleyball closed out a road series against New Mexico Sunday, falling to the Lobos in four sets (23-25, 25-20, 25-17, 25-15).
The Wolf Pack got off to a strong start in set one, going on an early seven-point run, highlighted by two Adriana Dorn. Back and forth play ensued, with the Lobos finding runs of their own to cut the lead down to 15-13 at the media timeout. The Lobos then fired out of the timeout, going on a four-point run, forcing a Nevada timeout. Paige Thies added to points off the back of that timeout, before teams traded points all the way to 22-22. The Pack then set up two match points with solid defense, before another Thies kill closed it out 25-23.
Nevada opened set three with a three-point run, sharing kills around the offense. Ceren Sert found her arm early in the set, with two kills to tie the score at 9-9. The Lobos then went on two three-point runs in the middle of the set, to set the score 16-12. Sert and Malia Pilimai tried to spark life back into the Pack on both offense and defense, adding three kills and a block. The game sat tied 19-18 before the Lobos stretched a four-point run prior to closing the set out 25-20.Â
Both teams traded attacks early in set three, with two kills from both Karly Bonaventure and Pilimai tying the score at 9-9. The Lobos then went on a three and six-point run to extend their lead out to 19-12, highlighted by strong attacking play from Addison France. A late three-point Pack run showed fight, but the Lobos ran the set out 25-17.Â
The Pack won the first two points of set four off the back of a Dorn ace and Bonaventure and Long block. The Lobos then rattled off an eight-point run after tying the game at 3-3, to lead 10-3. The teams traded points, before three Thies kills in the middle of the set showed fight in the Pack, cutting the lead to 17-11. Two Mina Stanojevic kills sparked a four-point run from the Lobos, which spurred them to a 25-15 win, clinching the match.Â

Paige Thies paced Nevada with 11 kills, while Madison Long added 10 kills and four blocks. Adriana Dorn had a day offensively, posting seven kills on a .636 hitting percentage, 28 assists, three service aces, and eight digs. Ceren Sert contributed six kills and three blocks, while Malia Pilimai and Karly Bonaventure chipped in five kills apiece. At the net, Bonaventure led the Wolf Pack with a match-high six blocks, helping Nevada finish with 10 team blocks, while Masyn Navarro anchored the back row with a match-high 18 digs and six assists. Nevada also received solid defensive production from Summer Suppik, who added five digs, and Adriana Dorn, who recorded her eighth double-figure dig performance with eight digs to complement her 28 assists.
The Pack return home to Virginia Street Gym next week for Thursday and Saturday games against UTEP.Â
