AUBURN, Ala. - Despite taking the doubles point Sunday against No. 76 Tulane, Nevada Women's Tennis dropped four singles matches to suffer a 4-2 loss to the Green Wave to close the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Auburn, Alabama.

Petra Janigova and Kariman Buqai opened doubles with a 6-3 win over Tulane's Micah Pierce and Natalia Fantini, and the point was clinched with a 6-3 victory for Amahée Charrier and Kennedy Robinson over Diana Badalyan and Leigh Van Zyl at No. 2.

It turned against the Pack in singles play, however. Tulane picked up two quick points with wins at Nos. 3 and 5 before Nevada evened it up with Amahée Charrier's 7-5, 6-2 win over Chandler at No. 1.

The Green Wave put the Pack at the brink with Fantini's 6-4, 6-3 win over Buqai at No. 6. Janigova, at No. 4, held a third-set lead over Leigh Van Zyl to give the Pack a shot at forcing the deciding fourth point, but the Green Wave got it with a comeback of its own at No. 2, as Ricci overcame a dropped first set to Foerster to take a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win for the clinch.

Nevada (1-3) returns to action next weekend, traveling to Stockton to take on Idaho Saturday, January 31 before facing host Pacific the next day.
