Box Score USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Nevada volleyball began conference play on Thursday night, falling on the road to Air Force in three straight sets.
The Pack opened the match strong, leading the way through the first half of the opening set. At the 12th point, Air Force tied it up and began to take the advantage.Â
Nevada found itself down by as much as six before making a late push to come back within one, 22-21. Air Force went up again by two before
Mckaley Herr recorded a kill to bring Nevada back within one. The rally wasn't enough as the Pack dropped the first set, 23-25.Â
Despite starting from behind in the second, Nevada kept it close, never allowing the Falcons to get ahead by more than five and forcing six ties. However, set two went in favor of Air Force, 25-20.
The Pack had the advantage several times in the third, even going on a 6-0 run to later force extras. The comeback wasn't enough as Nevada fell in the third, 27-25.Â
Nicanora Clarke led the Pack in kills with 10, followed by
Haylee Brown with nine.
Audrey Jensen led in assists with 26, while
Masyn Navarro led in digs with 11.Â
Nevada will remain on the road to face Colorado State on Saturday, with first serve set for 11 AM.
