Reno, Nev. - Don Weir Field at Peccole Park

WP: Eric Valdez (4-0)
LP: Jared Galang (0-3)

RENO, Nev. - The Comeback Pack did it for the second day in a row. Nevada scored four times in the ninth inning to force extra innings, then Jake Harvey's RBI single in the 10th walked-off a 9-8 victory over Fresno State. The win completed the three-game sweep of the Bulldogs, and pulled the Wolf Pack into a three-way tie for first place atop the Mountain West standings.

A day after Sean Yamaguchi's ninth-inning homer walked off a win, Nevada (28-19, 15-9 MW) broke Bulldog hearts with another stunning comeback to force a three-way tie atop the Mountain West with Fresno State and New Mexico with six conference games remaining.

While the Wolf Pack travels to Sacramento State for a midweek game this Tuesday, the final six-game Mountain West stretch begins Friday at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park as Nevada hosts San Diego State for a three-game set. The series is Nevada's final home set of the campaign.

Sunday, Fresno State doubled down on its 6-4 lead headed into the ninth as Griffin Sotomayor and Murf Gray hit solo homers to make it 8-4.

But the Pack outdid bark with bite in its half of the ninth. Mason Hirata legged out an infield single to shortstop, and came around on Jayce Dobie's double to right-center against Bulldog closer JT Guerrero. Dobie, who advanced to third on an errant relay throw, scored on Michael Ball's groundout to halve the deficit at 8-6.

Harvey, who would be a hero an inning later, restarted things with a single, and Yamaguchi lined a double down the line in right to put the tying run in scoring position. Taylor Holder wasted no time evening it up, as his grounder got through the left side to easily score Harvey and Yamaguchi and tie it up at 8-8.

While Jared Galang spelled Guerrero and got Jackson Waller to end the threat by grounding into a double play, he was less fortunate in the 10th. After Eric Valdez shut down the Bulldogs in the top half, Nevada quickly put two on to start the 10th and chase Galang as Copper Bergman came on.

Bergman got outs sandwiched around a Jayce Dobie infield single which loaded the bases, but ran out of luck as Harvey lines a 1-2 pitch to right-center to spark the celebration.

Valdez improved to 4-0 for Nevada, giving up no baserunners over the final 1.1 innings. Galang fell to 0-3 for Fresno State, charged with the winning run over two-thirds of a frame.

Nevada had taken the lead to open the game for third time in the series, earlier, on Holder's two-run, bases-loaded double in the first.

Wolf Pack starter Casey Burfield put in a strong effort, going six innings and allowing just three runs on six hits with two strikeouts. Burfield only ran into trouble in the fourth, giving up an RBI double to Gray before Bobby Blandford hit a two-run homer to put Fresno State in front, 3-2.

Jacob Doyle hit a go-ahead two-run homer to put Nevada in front, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth but the lead was short-lived. Sky Collins got on for the Bulldogs against Wolf Pack reliever Logan Saloman with one out in the seventh, stole second, and took third on a wild pitch. That allowed him to score the tying run on Sotomayor's fly ball to center.

An inning later, Gray led off the eighth with a walk, as Ethan O'Neal came on for Saloman. The Bulldogs (23-24, 15-9 MW) would load the bases with one out, then take the lead on Jett Ruby's single just past the glove of a diving Dobie at first. Schneider followed with an RBI single to right-center, before Caedon Kottinger came on and induced an inning-ending double-play ball out of Collins.

Holder led Nevada with four RBIs while going 2-for-5 with a double, and Dobie was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI. Every Wolf Pack starter had a hit Sunday, including five multi-hit games.

Gray was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a homer and two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs, while Sotomayor and Blandford each drove in two runs.
