RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women's Tennis standout Amahée Charrier was named Mountain West Player of the Year, becoming the second player in program history to win a conference player of the year award. Charrier, along with
Marlene Foerster was also named to the All-Mountain West Singles list.
Charrier, a native of Chambray-les-Tours, France, ended the 2025 spring season with a 14-3 record, going 8-1 in conference play, all at the top-flight. She won five of her conference matches in straight sets and had two separate four-match winning streaks in conference play.
Charrier's overall season has been on of the greatest in program history with her 26-7 singles record, the most singles victories ever in a Wolf Pack season. Charrier's standout fall season took her to the ITA Conference Master's Championships where she won the consolation draw, winning four straight matches against the best singles players from across the country.
The junior rallied after a tough start to her 2025 spring season, holding a 1-2 record after the first week of February. Charrier then went on a nine-match winning streak, with one unfinished result before she took her next loss.
Charrier's 8-1 conference record and 14 spring victories helped Nevada to a program-record 17-win season and the highest conference finish since Nevada joined the Mountain West in 2012.
Charrier finished her season one game away from a ninth conference victory with a 6-4, 5-4 lead when the Pack's final match of the regular season was clinched.
Although boasting one of the best singles seasons in program history, Charrier stood out on the doubles court as well. Posting a 15-6 overall record, Charrier finished 14-3 in the spring season, all with her partner,
Kennedy Robinson. Charrier and Robinson held a 14-2 record in second-flight doubles and won five of eight finished matches in conference play together.
Charrier joins Claudia Herrero in 2017 as the only players in program history to win a conference Player of the Year.
Along with her Player of the Year honor, Charrier makes her career third appearance on the Mountain West All-Singles lists. Joining her on the list is fellow junior, Foerster.
Foerster had an outstanding season not to be overshadowed by Charrier. Foerster finished the spring season with a 13-4 record, all coming in the second flight. She went 6-3 in conference play picking up huge wins for the Pack against San Diego State and San José State. Foerster had her own nine match win streak, spanning from the Pack's second match of the spring until Nevada's win over Stanislaus State in late-March.
The Pforzheim, Germany native has 17 wins overall on the season, bringing her Nevada career total to 30 in her two seasons with the Pack.
Nevada looks to continue its historic season on Thursday at the Mountain West Championships. The Pack will face the winner of No. 7 Air Force and No. 10 New Mexico at 10 a.m. in the quarterfinals.
