RENO, Nev. — Nevada Men's Basketball has added a significant piece to its 2025-26 roster by signing dynamic guard Tayshawn Comer. A proven leader and high-level competitor, Comer brings veteran experience, playmaking ability, and a winning pedigree to the Wolf Pack backcourt.
"We're excited to add Tayshawn to our program," said Nevada head coach
Steve Alford. "He's a dynamic guard who brings toughness, leadership, and a true competitor's mindset to the court. Tayshawn has great vision, plays with pace, and knows how to control the game. He's battle-tested, and we believe his experience and energy will be a great fit in our backcourt."
Comer spent this past season at the University of Evansville, where he made an immediate impact. In the 2024-25 campaign, he averaged 16.2 points, 4.1 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game, shooting nearly 39 percent from the field and close to 79 percent from the free-throw line. His impressive play earned him Second Team All-Missouri Valley Conference honors and a spot on the MVC All-Newcomer Team.
Before Evansville, Comer played two seasons at Eastern Kentucky. As a freshman, he averaged 8.0 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game, earning Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman honors. As a sophomore, he followed up with another solid year, posting 7.8 points and 3.0 assists per game. Throughout his college career, Comer has established himself as a floor general who competes at both ends and thrives under pressure.
A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Comer starred at Cathedral High School, leading the program to a Class 4A State Championship. He became Cathedral's all-time leading scorer and was a three-time All-State selection. A finalist for Indiana Mr. Basketball, Comer was ranked among the top 40 point guards in the country by ESPN in the 2022 recruiting class.
His ability to score, distribute, and defend at a high level will be a key asset as the Pack prepares for the 2025-26 season.
