SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Nevada Men's Basketball dropped its final regular-season road game, falling to San Diego State 80-61 on Saturday night at Viejas Arena. Despite a strong second-half effort, the Wolf Pack couldn't overcome a slow start as the Aztecs pulled away early.
Tyler Rolison led Nevada with 19 points, adding five rebounds and an assist. Nick Davidson followed with 16 points and seven rebounds while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. The Pack battled in the second half, outscoring the Aztecs 40-37, but San Diego State's efficiency from the field proved too much to overcome.
First Half
San Diego State jumped to an early lead, capitalizing on Nevada's cold start from the field. The Pack shot 31.6% in the first half, including 3-of-12 from beyond the arc. Davidson provided early offense, converting on free throws and a driving layup to keep Nevada within reach. However, the Aztecs' defensive pressure forced multiple turnovers, leading to transition baskets that extended their advantage. Nick Boyd led the charge for San Diego State, knocking down timely shots to widen the gap. Nevada trailed 43-21 by halftime, with the Aztecs shooting an impressive 60% from the field.
Second Half
Nevada responded with a more potent offensive performance after the break. Rolison caught fire, scoring 14 of his 19 points in the second half while attacking the basket and drawing fouls. The Pack improved their efficiency, shooting 46.4% from the field, and chipped away at the deficit with a 6-0 scoring run midway through the half. Davidson added a key three-pointer to cut the Aztecs' lead to 15, but San Diego State answered with a balanced attack led by Miles Heide, who had 14 points and six rebounds, and Pharaoh Compton with 13 points and five rebounds. Despite the Pack's effort to close the gap, the Aztecs maintained control down the stretch to seal the win.
