RENO, Nev. - The 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Basketball Championships kicks off this weekend with Nevada women's basketball taking on Boise State on Sunday at 2 PM.
Coming into the tournament, the Pack are seeded at #9, with the Broncos just above at #8.
They split the regular season series as Boise State took the first game on January 18 (61-53) and Nevada winning game two on February 1 (69-61).
Flashback to the first meeting this season,
Lexie Givens led with 17 points, six rebounds and a block.
Izzy Sullivan recorded 10 points, and
Olivia Poulivaati contributed with six rebounds of her own.Â
For Boise State, Mya Hansen led in scoring with 14 points. Tatum Thompson recorded a double-double, scoring 11 points while grabbing 12 boards.
A few weeks later, Nevada got redemption at home with a comeback win.
Audrey Roden recorded a double-double in the victory with 16 points and 12 rebounds, 10 of them being defensive. Givens led in scoring with 20. She was perfect from the paint and beyond the arc going 7-7 and 2-2, respectively.Â
Thompson, Dani Bayes and Natalie Pasco all led in scoring for the Broncos with 13 points. Elodie Lalotte followed behind with 12.Â
Nevada closed out its regular season at Utah State on march 1, falling with a final of 93-75. Givens recorded her sixth double-double of the season, tallying 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Dymonique Maxie led in scoring with 19, she added seven boards of her own.
Imbie Jones contributed with 16 points and seven rebounds.
The Broncos also closed out their season against the Aggies, downing them with a final of 72-59 on March 4. Pasco dropped 25 points while Thompson has 21. Lalotte and Thompson led in rebounding with eight.Â
Sunday's game will take place in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. It will be the first game of the tournament, with tip set for 2 PM.
