RENO, Nev. – Nevada Softball clinched its second straight conference series win on Friday after beating the San Diego State Aztecs, 5-2. Aaliyah Jenkins powered the Wolf Pack victory with her three-run homer in the third, breaking the Nevada career RBI record in the process.

The Pack fell behind 2-0 in the top of the third after a Quinn Waiki home run to left field and a Cali Decker RBI double.

Nevada responded right away, leading off the third inning with a bunt single by Madison Clark. Saige Alfaro walked, extending her on-base streak to 11 games. Then, Jenkins took advantage of the situation, hitting her eighth homer of the year and breaking Megan Sweet's program RBI record, bringing her career total to 169.

Lead-off back-to-back homers in the sixth inning sealed the game for Nevada. Maya Larsen and Tatum Maytorena combined for the second set of back-to-back home runs this season, Larsen being involved in both of them.

The Wolf Pack pitching staff locked down the Aztecs' hitting, only allowing one hit through the final four innings. With two runners on via walks in the seventh, Ainsley Berlingeri secured her second save of the year with a fly out to Bailie Clark in center field.

Tess Bumiller got her second conference win in as many starts. Bumiller pitched 5.0 innings and faced one batter in the sixth inning. She struck out two batters while only allowing three hits and two runs, one earned. Berlingeri pitched 2.0 innings in her save appearance, allowing no hits, no runs, and just two walks.

Haley Painter, Hannah Di Genova, and Madison Clark also recorded hits for the Pack. Larsen and Alfaro led the Wolf Pack, getting on base twice a piece, Larsen with her home run and a walk, Alfaro with a pair of free passes.

The Wolf Pack will look to sweep the series tomorrow in the series finale at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
