RENO, Nev. - Peyton Fosher went seven scoreless innings with a career high-tying nine strikeouts, and the Nevada bats backed him up with four homers in Friday night's 10-0, eight-inning win over Washington State.
The Cougars (9-16, 4-3 MW) only had one runner advance to third on Fosher all night, that coming in the second inning. Outside of that, Fosher allowed just three hits on the night while keeping the Washington State offense in check and evening his record at 2-2.
Jacob Doyle started the home run party for the Wolf Pack (15-10, 4-3 MW) with a three-run shot in the second.
Michael Ball hit a solo shot for his team-leading eighth homer of the season in the third, and
Billy Ham lined an opposite-field drive out to left in the sixth to make it 5-0.
Nevada put itself in 10-run rule position in the seventh, putting up four in the frame.
Jackson Waller drive in
Jake Harvey with his second hit of the night, then
Taylor Holder hit the Pack's fourth homer of the night, a three-run shot just inside the foul pole in left to make it 9-0.
Junhyuk Kwon walked it off in the eighth, lining a single to right which plated Harvey from third.
Waller and Kwon had to hits apiece to lead the Pack, while Doyle and Holder each drove in three runs.
Nevada has a chance to take the series Saturday, as the teams meet at 2:05 p.m.
