RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women's Tennis checked into Tuesday's ITA Women's Team Rankings at no. 55 after beating a ranked San Diego State team last week.

The Pack, previously ranked 70
th, defeated the 44
th ranked Aztecs on Friday, 4-3, at McArthur Tennis Center. The victory moved the Wolf Pack to 3-0 in conference play and jumped the squad 15 places in the most recent rankings. Now ranked 55
th, Nevada holds its highest ranking since the March 17, 2009 rankings when Nevada was ranked 54
th in Division I Women's Tennis.

Despite defeating the Aztecs, Nevada still ranks behind San Diego State, as the Aztecs only fell five spots, down to no. 49. Nevada and San Diego State are the only two ranked teams representing the Mountain West. Just two weeks into the Mountain West season, Nevada is tied for the conference lead with San José State and UNLV.

This week, the Wolf Pack hits the road with a pair of cold weather matches at Utah State and Boise State. Nevada will face the Aggies at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, then travel to play the Broncos on Sunday, March 30, at 10 a.m. Nevada will then return home to face Silver State Series rivals, UNLV.
