FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Nevada Women's Tennis defeated Colorado State 4-0 to open up Mountain West play. The Pack took advantage of the shorthanded Rams, who were playing with five players.
Â
With Colorado State down to five players, Nevada automatically won the third doubles match and sixth singles match, giving the Wolf Pack a massive advantage.
Â
Only needing one of the doubles matches to win the point, Amahée Charrier and
Kennedy Robinson took care of business on court two, winning a key break to defeat Viktor Zhadzinskaya and Diana Lizarazo, 6-4
Â
The Pack then immediately took a 2-0 win as Robinson was awarded the win on court six due to Colorado State not fielding a player.
Â
Lou-Anne Guerbert got her second straight win defeating Victoria Erechtchenko in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1.
Â
Charrier closed out the dual win for the Pack, defeating Sarah Weekely in the top-flight match via a second-set tiebreaker. Charrier held a break over Weekely in the first set to win 6-3 but had to fight through a tiebreaker, eventually winning it 7-2 to seal the set, match, and dual.
Â
Marlene Foerster dropped her first set in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (5) but won the second set against Zhadzinskaya to tie the match as the dual was clinched.Â
Â
Being limited to three courts,
Silvia-Maria Costache had barely begun her match as the dual finished.
Wiem Boubaker was slated in the fifth flight match, but the match did not get a chance to begin.
Â
The Wolf Pack make the drive up to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowgirls at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
