Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Nevada Dominates Wyoming Behind Sanders and Rolison’s Hot Shooting

RENO, Nev. - Nevada secured a commanding 84-61 victory over Wyoming at Lawlor Events Center, fueled by a scorching second-half performance from Kobe Sanders and Tyler Rolison. Sanders led all scorers with 27 points, eight of twelve from the field and nine of ten from the free-throw line. Rolison followed up with 16 points on six of nine shooting. Nick Davidson contributed 14 points, making two of seven field goals and nine of eleven free throws, while Xavier DuSell added 11 points on three of six shooting and two of five from beyond the arc. Wyoming struggled offensively, with Obi Agbim scoring 11 points on four of fifteen shooting and Kobe Newton leading the Cowboys with 16 points, making all four of his field goal attempts and four of five free throws, but it wasn't enough to keep up with the Wolf Pack's efficient shooting.

First Half

The game opened with a defensive battle, but Nevada quickly asserted itself, taking a ten to four lead behind an early three-pointer from Rolison and a putback layup from Justin McBride. Wyoming's offense struggled to find rhythm, shooting just twenty-nine point four percent from the field in the first half. While the Cowboys got some energy from Jordan Nesbitt's perimeter shooting, Nevada's defense kept them in check.

Sanders started to heat up late in the first half, hitting a step-back jumper and a three-pointer in transition to push Nevada's lead to thirty-two to twenty. Davidson's steady presence at the free-throw line helped the Wolf Pack maintain control, and a pull-up jumper from Sanders at the buzzer gave Nevada a thirty-nine to twenty-eight lead heading into halftime.

Second Half

Coming out of the break, Nevada picked up where it left off. Sanders hit a mid-range jumper, and Rolison followed with a smooth layup in transition, stretching the lead to forty-five to thirty-three. Wyoming's Agbim tried to keep his team in it with a tough floater, but the Cowboys had no answer for Nevada's offensive explosion.

With twelve minutes remaining, Sanders caught fire, knocking down a three-pointer and a turnaround jumper on back-to-back possessions. Rolison then took over, slicing through Wyoming's defense for easy layups and pushing the lead past twenty points. Nevada shot sixty-two point five percent from the field in the second half, compared to Wyoming's fifty-four point two percent, but the Wolf Pack's dominance in transition and free-throw efficiency making twenty-six of thirty-one for eighty-three point nine percent sealed the deal.

In the closing minutes, Rolison hit another pull-up jumper, and Sanders capped off his night with a pair of free throws, putting an exclamation point on Nevada's most dominant home performance of the season. With this win, the Wolf Pack improved to sixteen wins and twelve losses with an eight and nine record in conference play,
