RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's basketball returns home on Saturday for the first of a two-game homestand, hosting Wyoming on Senior and Breast Cancer Awareness night.
The two teams faced off a little over a month ago in Wyoming, where the Pack fell after a close battle, 66-61. Both
Audrey Roden and
Lexie Givens had 13 points on the night, with Roden grabbing six boards and Givens adding five.
Victoria Davis contributed with 10 points and three rebounds.
For Wyoming, Allyson Fertig recorded a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Tess Barnes had 13 points and Malene Pedersen tallied 12. Both players grabbed five boards.
Nevada had a second half push after being down by as much as 13 in the first 20. The Pack outscored the Cowgirls in the third quarter, 17-11, and tied them 14 in the fourth.
This time around, Nevada is coming off a loss to San Diego State on Wednesday, 72-43. Givens led in shooting for the Pack with 17 points, followed by
Dymonique Maxie with 11.
Rakiyah Jackson came away with eight boards, while Givens had seven.
The Cowgirls are also coming off a loss, falling to Boise State on Tuesday night, 78-73. Four players scored in double digits, Emily Mellema with 18, Pedersen with 16, Fertig scoring 15 and Barnes tallying 14.Â
The match up with Wyoming will be Nevada's second to last home game of the season. The Pack will be wearing special pink jerseys in recognition of breast cancer awareness, and 5,000 fans will go home with a Nevada pink scarf, curtesy of Renown. Tip is set for 6:30 PM with Senior night festivities taking place after.Â
