RENO, Nev. - Dylan LaBarbera was selected to the All-Mountain West First Team and
Murvin Kenion III earned a spot on the Second Team Tuesday, headlining Nevada's 2025 all-conference selections.
Five members of the Wolf Pack were also named All-Mountain West Honorable Mention: tight ends Jace Carpenter and
Jace Henry, punter
Bailey Ettridge, EDGE
Jonathan Maldonado, and cornerback
AJ Odums.
LaBarbera posted an All-America-caliber season in 2025, threatening both Nevada and Mountain West records with his performance on the field. The Redding, California native finished the regular season with 17.0 tackles-for-loss and 1.42 TFLs per game, leading the Mountain West and ranking fifth in the nation in both categories. LaBarbera also led the Wolf Pack with 87 tackles and 6.5 sacks.
His contributions and impact were felt from start to finish in 2025. LaBarbera opened the campaign with two tackles-for-loss at No. 2/3 Penn State, and went on to post six games with multiple TFLs including a high of four against San Diego State. Only thrice this season did LaBarbera not reach seven tackles in a game, topping out with 12 tackles at Fresno State and recording three nine-tackle efforts. Behind his and others' play, the Wolf Pack nearly went the entire season without allowing a 100-yard rusher, that mark only being hit in the finale against UNLV.
Kenion came to the Wolf Pack in 2025 and quickly earned the respect of his peers, being voted one of the team's captains in the preseason. The Wolf Pack safety posted a pair of two-interception games on the year, and finished the regular season with five picks to share the Mountain West lead.
Kenion was also a disruptor in opponents' backfields, piling up 5.0 tackles-for-loss and two forced fumbles while ranking third on the team with 59 tackles. Among his top performances this season was his three takeaways created in the 55-10 win over San José State in which he picked off two passes and forced a fumble recovered by the Pack.
Carpenter also had a strong campaign in his debut Nevada season. The transfer from Eastern Washington had a career year with team highs of 35 catches and 374 receiving yards to go with two touchdown catches. From his tight end spot, Carpenter had five games with at least three catches, posting a season-best six catches which went for 70 yards at Western Kentucky, then racking up a season-high 72 receiving yards on just three catches against San Diego State.
Paired up with Carpenter at tight end was Henry, who earned his first all-conference recognition. While making seven catches for 43 yards, Henry's major contribution was to the Wolf Pack's ground game as a run-blocking tight end. Behind his contributions, the Wolf Pack rushing attack gained 4.4 yards per attempt, and three different ball carriers finished with at least 300 yards on the ground led by
Caleb Ramseur at 683. Henry's blocking helped spur Ramseur to a career season, as he also racked up a team-high eight touchdowns.
Ettridge, the Wolf Pack's freshman punter from Lara, Australia, was another debut highlight for Nevada in 2025. Ettridge ranked fifth in the conference averaging 44.7 yards over 47 punts with only two going for touchbacks, that latter figure tying for second in the Mountain West among qualified punters. Eighteen of Ettridge's punts were downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line, fourth-best in the conference, and he uncorked 14 punts of at least 50 yards. He also used his legs for the benefit of the offense, twice carrying on a fake punt and gaining a combined 26 yards and two key first downs.
Maldonado was another member of the Wolf Pack with a breakout season in 2025. The Wolf Pack EDGE blew away his previous career highs, finishing the season with 38 tackles including 5.0 sacks and 9.0 tackles-for-loss, the latter two figures ranking behind only LaBarbera. Maldonado, who made a tackle-for-loss in seven different games this season, also disrupted opposing passing attacks, breaking up four passes and making one interception which he returned 36 yards for the game-winning touchdown against Sacramento State in the Pack's first win of the season.
Despite missing the final game of the season, Odums started nine of the 11 games in which he appeared at cornerback, helping anchor another strong season from Nevada's secondary. His nine pass breakups tied for the Wolf Pack lead and ranked among the Mountain West leaders, while highlighting a unit that collectively broke up 27 passes. While also ranking fifth on the team with 50 tackles, Odums' work in the secondary played a major role in the Wolf Pack not allowing a 300-yard passer all season.
