Nevada falls on the road to Sacramento State

Box Score SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Nevada women's basketball hit the road for the first time in its 2025-26 campaign, falling to Sacramento State with a final score of 65-45.

Nevada struggled through much of the game to control the ball on the offensive side with several turnovers proving to be costly. Sacramento State took the lead early on, forcing Nevada to play from behind.

At the end of the first quarter, the Pack were down, 19-6. Into the second, the Hornets pushed the lead to 15 before the Pack started to chip away at the lead.

With just over two minutes left in the first half, a made turnaround jumper by Skylar Durley put Nevada within nine. Durley and Kendra Hicks then combined for four off of two more layups. Sacramento State scored again before Durley got the Pack within five.

Heading into the break, Nevada was trailing, 31-26.

In the third quarter, a made free throw by Durley cut Sacramento State's lead to just four. The Pack weren't able to keep up the momentum as the Hornets created some distance.

At the end of the third, the Pack found themselves down by 12, 48-36. Nevada couldn't find its rhythm in the final 10 minutes of play, ultimately dropping the road match to Sacramento State.

Durley led both teams in points with 17. Ahrray Young contributed with 11 and had six rebounds.

Nevada will be back home on November 13 in the annual 'When I Grow Up Game,' hosting LMU at 10:30 AM.
