ETTRIDGE NAMED TO RAY GUY AWARD WATCH LIST; RAY'S 8
Punter
Bailey Ettridge was added to the Ray Guy Award Watch List and named to the Ray's 8 list on Oct. 26. The Ray Guy Award - named for football's premier punter - honors the nation's best collegiate punter in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
Ettridge, in his first season with the Wolf Pack from Lara, Australia, has had just one of 31 punts go for a touchback this season, all while averaging 44.2 yards per punt. Nine of his kick have gone for over 50 yards while 17 have landed inside opponents' 20-yard lines.
His 17 punts landing inside the opponent's 20 leads the Mountain West, while he also paces the conference's eligible punters with just the one touchback.
Ettridge earned his spot on the weekly "Ray's 8" list for his performance Oct. 24 against Boise State. Against the Broncos, he averaged 45.8 yards over four punts, with three landing inside the 20 and no touchbacks.
LABARBARA CHASING NEVADA, MOUNTAIN WEST RECORDS
Junior defensive lineman Dylan LaBarbara bounced back with 1.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack Oct. 24 against Boise State after being shutout of both categories for the first time all season Oct. 18 at New Mexico. Over these final four games of the season, LaBarbera, at 15.5 TFLs this year, is well within striking distance of both Nevada's and the Mountain West's single-season records. He is just 6.5 back of Dontay Moch's Nevada benchmark of 22.0 TFL (2010), and 5.0 back of the MW mark of 20.5, shared by three different players.
LaBarbera remains the national leader in total TFLs (14.0) and tackles-for-loss per game (2.14) while ranking 16th in the nation with 5.5 sacks.
