Box Score BOISE, Idaho - Nevada volleyball played on the road at Boise State on Thursday night, falling in straight sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-17) to the Broncos.
After being down 3-0 to open up the match, the Pack (8-19, 4-13 MW) battled back to get within one at 4-3 off of a kill by
Haylee Brown. Nevada tried to keep it close, trading points until the Broncos began to pull away. Boise State went on a 10-3 run to take control, and the Pack dropped the opening set, 25-12.
Nevada fell into an early hole in the second set as Boise State (18-10, 10-7 MW) scored the first four points. The Pack were forced to play from behind and were unable to get enough runs to close the gap, falling in the second, 25-11.
The Pack put in a stronger performance in set three that included a late 5-0 run behind a kill from
Jess Walkenhorst and a combined block from
Bella Snyder and
Nicanora Clarke to bring it within six at 23-17. But Nevada was unable to keep the match alive, dropping the last set, 25-17.
Walkenhorst led the Pack in kills with five, followed by Brown and Snyder with four apiece. Both Brown and
Kamryn Tifft contributed with three blocks apiece.
Nevada will wrap up its season on the road Saturday at Utah State, with first serve set for 12 p.m. PT.
