PROVO, Utah - In day two of the ITA Mountain Regional, three Wolf Pack players have advanced and earned their spot in the singles round of 32 to be played tomorrow.
Both
Kennedy Robinson and
Petra Janigova won their two matches yesterday which moved them from the qualifier to the main draw.
Robinson beat Montana State's Kelsey Phillips in two sets, 7-6 and 6-1. She moves on to play Eszter Kis-Czako from UNLV. Janigova defeated Sara Akid of Utah State in three, 6-3, 3-6 and 7-6. She will take on Millie Day from Idaho state
Today was Amahée Charrier's first singles match of the tournament, where she took down Stefanya Shalakhova of Idaho State, 6-2, 7-5.
In doubles action, the duo of Janigova and
Wiem Boubaker won their first round of the day against Carla Grignac and Lorelyz Marruffo of Boise State, 8-6, but fell in the next round to Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson of Colorado, 4-8.
Marlene Foerster and
Silvia-Maria Costache dropped their lone match of the tournament to Natalie Rainke and Madelynn Ludwig of Northern Arizona, 6-8. The third Pack team to compete was Robinson and Charrier. They won their first match against Cai Yunfei and Zoe Adkins of Denver, 8-3, but dropped their next one to Bella Lewis and Karina Mohamed from BYU, 7-8.
