LAS VEGAS -Â
Rayen Hermassi and
Axel Huysmans took down the top seed in the men's doubles draw Saturday, advancing to the semifinals at the Mountain West Fall Qualifiers in Las Vegas.
The Wolf Pack tandem jumped out to a 4-1 lead over San Diego State's Lars Johann and Aleksi Lofman. Hermassi and Huysmans' lead swelled to 7-2, and despite the Aztec tandem taking a pair of games to briefly stave off defeat, the Nevada pair finished the job for the 8-4 win.
Nicolas Recoura and
Rémy Trégourès were also in quarterfinal action, but had their run end with an 8-5 loss to No. 2 seed team of Jakub Prachar and Tyler Waddock of New Mexico.
Hermassi and Huysmans will face Grand Canyon's Brice Patoux and Daniel Jankoski Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
