LOGAN, Utah — Nevada Women's Soccer came up short against Utah State on Thursday evening, dropping a 6-1 result at Chuck and Gloria Bell Soccer Field.
The Aggies struck first in the 32nd minute and carried a 1-0 lead into halftime. Just minutes into the second half, Utah State doubled its advantage before Nevada senior Maddie Benson responded with her first goal of the season in the 54th minute, slicing the deficit in half and giving the Wolf Pack a spark.
Utah State continued to press, adding four more goals to close out the match. Mia Collins made a strong initial save on a second-half penalty kick, but the Aggies capitalized on the rebound to extend their lead.
Nevada now turns its attention to Sunday's matchup at Colorado State in Fort Collins, looking to bounce back in the final stretch of Mountain West play.
