LOGAN, Utah.- Utah State handed Nevada a tough 90-69 defeat at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, dominating the game from start to finish. For Nevada, Nick Davidson put up 19 points with seven rebounds, and Kobe Sanders added 13 points and five assists in a valiant effort. Utah State was led by Ian Martinez, who scored 23 points on a perfect 7-for-9 shooting from three, while Dexter Akanno added 15 points, hitting 5 of his seven attempts from deep.
First Half
Nevada started strong, jumping to an early six-point lead within the first five minutes. However, Utah State quickly adjusted, combining crisp ball movement and strong three-point shooting to seize control. Ian Martinez and Dexter Akanno fueled a 13-point run midway through the half, helping Utah State build a 47-38 lead by halftime. Nevada struggled with turnovers during this stretch, giving up 17 points off their mistakes.
Second Half
Utah State turned up the heat even more after the break, shooting a stunning 68.8 percent from three-point range in the second half. Martinez hit several key threes to push Utah State's lead to as much as 24 points. Despite Nevada's efforts to cut the deficit, including a couple of highlight plays from Davidson, the Wolf Pack couldn't find consistent scoring to keep pace. Utah State's defense stifled Nevada, forcing 18 turnovers in total while scoring 25 points off those miscues. The loss drops Nevada to an 11-8 record and snaps their three-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Utah State improves to 17-2.
