RENO, Nev. – Nevada Athletic Director Stephanie Rempe announced two additions to the Wolf Pack development team, Wednesday.
Suzanne Affeldt, who has previously served in senior development roles at Arizona (2011-22) and, most recently, Syracuse (2023-24), joins Nevada Athletics as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Development and Engagement.
Collin Bernard, a sixth-generation Nevadan and 2018 graduate of the University, has been named Assistant Director of Development, Annual Giving and WPAA Membership.
"We couldn't be more excited to welcome Suzanne and Collin to Wolf Pack Team. Both bring experience that will help us continue to expand our presence in Northen Nevada and help us raise the much need dollars to support our student athletes and coaches" said Athletics Director Stephanie Rempe.
Affeldt served as Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Syracuse since 2023, where she served as a major gift officer for the 'Cuse Athletics Fund. She served as a sport liaison with the Orange women's basketball and softball programs, assisting the coaching staffs with fundraising efforts and alumni engagement.
From 2011-22, Affeldt served in development at her alma mater, Arizona, first as Assistant Athletic Director, Development, before being elevated to Associate Athletic Director in 2018. During her time at Arizona, Affeldt played an integral role in four major capital campaign projects undertaken by Arizona Athletics: the $67.9 million 4 + 1 Campaign, the $72 million Lowell-Stevens Football Facility, the $30 million Phase I of the McKale Center Renovation Project, and the $7.2 million Ginny L. Clements Academic Center.
The efforts of Affeldt and the development team led to the exceeding of revenue goals in fiscal year 2020 at Arizona, in which more than $35M (40 percent of the department budget) was generated in support—the second-largest total in department history at that time. In addition to overseeing the Wildcats' Annual Giving and A-Club teams, she served as sport administrator for the beach volleyball and women's gymnastics programs.
In her role at Nevada, Affeldt will lead the development team with a clear focus on increasing Wolf Pack Athletic Association memberships, enhancing relationships with dedicated donor base, and securing major gifts to support capital projects, unrestricted funds, and the overall mission of the department. Her oversight of the WPAA, annual giving, donor relations, and major gift acquisition, in collaboration with the UNR Foundation, will be instrumental in building the financial support necessary for Nevada Athletics to thrive.
Bernard returns to Nevada Athletics after a stint as Account Manager & Donor Services in 2020. Collin's community-wide relationships and deep understanding of the northern Nevada region will serve the department well. Since 2019 he has owned and operated his company, Curly Wolf, a Western-inspired lifestyle company which produces apparel, home goods, and provisions along with entertainment. Additionally, Bernard has served the Northern Nevada community as a realtor since 2021.
In his new role, Bernard will focus on growing the Wolf Pack Athletic Association membership through grassroots initiatives, mass mailings, crowdfunding campaigns, and outreach efforts that highlight the importance of supporting the Wolf Pack community.
