RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada offensive lineman
Tyson Ruffins was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Ruffins was part of a Wolf Pack offensive line which worked in front of a running game which produced three ballcarriers who finished with at least 30 yards, led by quarterback
Brendon Lewis' 77.
Behind the Pack line, Lewis had one of his top games in a Nevada uniform, throwing for two touchdowns (matching his season output from 2023) and 132 yards without an interception. Against the SMU rush, the Nevada line only gave up one sack in the contest, along with just five tackles-for-loss, one of which came because of a fumbled exchange.
Nevada, which led late before falling 29-24 to SMU Saturday, heads on the road to face Troy this coming Saturday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. PT on ESPN+.
