PALO ALTO, Calif. – Nevada put up an early 4-1 lead, but a Cardinal six-run inning propels Stanford to a 7-4 victory over the Pack.
Haley Painter's second triple of the season set the Pack up to score first.
Taryn Jenkins reached on an error scoring Painter putting the Pack up early, 1-0.
The Cardinal answered in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single tying the game at one run apiece headed to the second.
Charli Hawkins singled to shallow center followed by
Maile Olsen taking her base off a hit by pitch.
Matlyn Leetch came in to courtesy run for Hawkins and both Leetch and Olsen stole on a wild pitch.
Bailie Clark recorded a sac fly scoring Leetch, taking a 2-1 lead.
Chelie Senini laid down a bunt reaching first and Olsen was able to score on a Cardinal error, extending the lead 3-1.
In the top of the third,
Gabby Herrera launched her sixth home run of the season with a solo shot over the right field wall adding another run to the Pack's lead.
Stanford answered in the bottom of the fourth with a six-run inning, putting the Cardinal
on top for their first lead of the game, 7-4.
Carley Brown got the start in the circle going 3.2 innings. Brown struck out three, walked one, and allowed seven runs on seven hits.
Tyra Clary came in for relief in the fourth, finishing out the game. Clary pitched 2.1 scoreless innings giving up no runs on one hit striking out two.
NiJaree Canady came in for the Stanford Cardinal with one out in the seventh. Canady recorded the save, securing Stanford's 7-4 win.
Notables:
- Gabby Herrera extends her hitting streak and on-base streak to 22 games, both are career longs
- Herrera recorded two hits, her 12th multi-hit game of the season
- Aaliyah Jenkins extends her on-base streak to 16 games
- Chelie Senini passes Britton Murdock for seventh all-time in Nevada career at-bats

The Pack continue on the road to the Bulldog Classic hosted by Fresno State. The squad will play a doubleheader tomorrow facing CSUN at 1 P.M. and San Diego at 4 P.M.
