RENO, Nev. - Kennedy Robinson wins her first career conference Player of the Week award as well as her third Freshman of the Week title.
Robinson went 3-1 in Tucson, playing a key role in both the Pack's matches at the University of Arizona. Against No. 34 Arizona, Robinson paired with Mia Miranda to defeat Reece Carter and Lauren Friedman 7-6 (3). The Nevada duo won all three of Robinson's service games, plus all three of her service points in the tiebreaker. Robinson and Miranda's win clinched the doubles point for Nevada.
The Henderson, Nevada native swept Western Michigan in the Pack's Sunday neutral match. In doubles, Robinson and Wiem Boubaker made quick work of Polina Khotko and Ariane Souligny, defeating the Broncos 6-2. The Wolf Pack win tied the doubles session, leading to the second Nevada doubles point of the weekend.
Robinson shined in her singles match, beating Julia Frazier 6-3, 6-2. Robinson broke Frazier seven times en route to her eighth singles win of the season. Robinson's victory clinched the dual for Nevada, beating Western Michigan, 4-1.
The Wolf Pack travel to California's Central Valley for three final matches before conference play. Nevada takes on Pacific on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. in Stockton. The Pack then travel south to Turlock for a doubleheader at Stanislaus State, the matches are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
