Nevada women’s basketball goes to New Mexico for final regular season road game Saturday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Nevada women's basketball goes on the road for its final regular season road game on Saturday at New Mexico at 1 p.m.

Saturday's game will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and available to listen on KPLY 630 AM. Emmy award-winning broadcaster Larry Burnett will be on the radio play-by-play once again for Nevada women's basketball, where fans can also listen online through the Varsity Network.

CLOSE CONTESTS
Even if it's by one point, Nevada has closed out close games this season. The Pack has won five games by three points or less, most recently sweeping a pair of home games against San Diego State on Feb. 14 (72-71) and Boise State in overtime on Feb. 17 (68-65). Nevada has won two out of its three games in overtime and won three games when trailing at halftime.

EARLY WORK
Nevada has two freshmen in Dymonique Maxie and Izzy Sullivan that are climbing the freshmen ranks in the NCAA Era. Maxie currently has the third-most steals by a Nevada freshman. Maxie needs 13 more steals to claim the Nevada Freshmen Steals Record set by Carissa Meyer (1994-95). Sullivan is currently second among Nevada freshmen in the NCAA Era in made 3-pointers in a single season. She needs five more to claim the Nevada Freshmen 3-Pointers Record set by current Nevada teammate Audrey Roden

RISING IN THE RANKS
Nevada currently ranks in the top four in the Mountain West in several categories. Nevada is second in the conference in steals per game (10.3). The Pack is currently third in turnover margin (+3.38) while ranking fourth in rebounding offense (36.55).

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER
Nevada has won two out of its three games that have come down to the last shot. Claire Jacobs hit a game-winner with one second left to give Nevada an overtime win on Nov. 25 against Central Arkansas. Jacobs came in the clutch again, hitting a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime on Dec. 2 against UCSB. Nevada, however, fell short in overtime to UCSB. Victoria Davis knocked down another deep 3-pointer on Feb. 17 against Boise State to force overtime in the final seconds, with Nevada clinching the win in a critical conference game.

SCOUTING NEW MEXICO
New Mexico is currently in second place in the Mountain West standings heading into Saturday. The Lobos have scored an average of 64.2 points per game and while grabbing 40.2 rebounds per game.

The Lobos have four players who average at least 10 points per game, led by Nyah Wilson with 14.8 points per game. Aniyah Augmon (13.1 points per game), Viane' Cumber (11.8 points per game) and Paula Reus (11.1 points per game all give the Lobos added scoring depth.
