Pack softball falls short on day two of Paradise Classic

HONOLULU, Hawaii – Nevada fell to BYU in the first game of the day and fell just short to Ole Miss in extra innings in the second game.
 
Game Notables: BYU (L, 0-8)
The Cougars kept the Pack's bats cold, shutting Nevada out through all seven innings.
 
Taryn Irimata got the start in her home state. Irimata went 1.1 innings, struck out one batter, walked two, and allowed five runs on five hits.
 
Blake Craft came in for relief in the second inning. Craft got out of two bases loaded situations, one coming in the top of the second and the other in the top of the fourth. Craft went 4.2 innings, striking out two batters, walking two, allowing one run on seven hits.
 
Tyra Clary came in for the Pack in the seventh, recording BYU's last three outs. In 1.0 innings pitched, Clary recorded two strikeouts, no walks, one error, and one run on five hits.  
 
Ole Miss (L, 2-3)
Nevada started the scoring first in the third with Bridgette Gilliano's RBI double, plating Chelie Senini. Gilliano stole third base setting up Aaliyah Jenkins sacrifice fly to give the Pack their second run.
 
The Rebels tied the game in the bottom of the sixth with a RBI single.
 
Carley Brown got her second start of the Paradise Classic pitching three scoreless innings, giving up an RBI single in the fourth. Brown went six innings, striking out one batter, with no walks, and two runs on 10 hits.
 
Tyra Clary came in for the Pack in the seventh retiring the three batters she faced sending the game into extras. Over two innings, Clary struck out three, walked two, and gave up one run on a go ahead RBI single.

The Rebels walked it off in the bottom of the eighth with an RBI single.
