The Roos started off the scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI single, giving Kansas City a 1-0 lead.
Down to their last 3 outs, the Pack was able to capitalize on a throwing error by Kansas City.
Chelie Senini reached with
Taryn Jenkins and
Matlyn Leetch scoring the tying and go-ahead run.
Carley Brown was the starter in the circle for the Pack pitching a complete game. Brown went 7 innings, with 5 strikeouts, 7 hits, 1 walk, and 1 run allowed.
HAWAI'I (W, 10-2, 5 innings)
Painter capitalized on her first at-bat with a solo shot to deep center field, putting the Pack on top, 1-0.
Taryn Jenkins hit her first home run in a Pack uniform with a 3-run shot to left field, bringing home
Charli Hawkins and
Bridgette Gilliano.
Gabby Herrera capped off the explosive first inning with a solo home run.
In the top of the third, T. Jenkins hits her second home run of the game in is as many at-bats, plating
Charli Hawkins and extending the lead 7-1. The Pack tacked on two more runs in the fourth from a wild pitch. In the fifth inning, Herrera hit her second home run of the game in as many at-bats.
Blake Craft got the second game start. Craft loaded the bases in the bottom of the first and walked in Hawaii's first run. Craft gave up a solo home run in the bottom of the third then struck out the following two batters. Craft went 3.1 IP, with 4 strikeouts, 5 hits, 3 walks, and 2 runs allowed.
Tyra Clary relieved Craft in the fourth inning. Clary went 1.1 innings pitched, recording 3 strikeouts, 1 walk, no hits, and no runs allowed.
The game ended in 5 innings, with the Pack on top 10-2.
T. Jenkins and
Gabby Herrera went 2-2 with 2 home runs a piece and a combined 7 RBI.
