RENO, Nev. – Nevada track and field announced the signing of jumper Alma Kathan for the 2024-25 season.
Â
"Alma is a very talented young lady from Austria, and we are extremely excited that she chose to come to Nevada," said associate head coach
Scott Williamson. "She has great marks in many events and the sky is the limit to what she will be able to achieve when she joins us next fall."
Â
The Austrian native specializes in both the high and long jump events, holding personal records of 1.70 meters and 5.86 meters, earning the long jump mark this past spring at the Sepp-Herberger-Stadion in Weinheim, Germany. Kathan's marks put her just outside the top-10 all-time in Nevada school history.
Â
Kathan is the third signee for the 2024-25 season, joining German sprinter Vivian Groppe and distance specialist Natalie Roberts.
