STOCKTON, Calif. - Nevada split its Saturday at the Libby Matson Tournament in Stockton, defeating Creighton, 13-0, in five innings, before falling, 4-1, to Stony Brook.

Carley Brown picked up her fourth win and first shutout of the season in the opener, giving up just three hits and striking out three.

At the plate, Gabby Herrera doubled and homered on the day, while Chelie Senini went 2-for-2 and scored three runs in the opener.

Nevada (11-4) closes the weekend Sunday at 12:15 p.m. against host Pacific.

Nevada 13, Creighton 0 (5)
For the second-straight day, Nevada made quick work of Creighton, dispatching of the Blue Jays, 13-0, in five innings.

While Carley Brown cruised, tossing a three-hitter, the Wolf Pack offense picked up right where it left off the day before. Taryn Jenkins lashed a two-run double down the line in left to plate Senini and Haley Painter with the first two runs of the game, and the Pack never looked back.

Nevada's eight-run third broke the game open. Senini once again got on base to open a frame, and, again, Jenkins doubled her in. Herrera's three-run homer made it 6-0, and the Pack loaded the bases right away.

Senini forced in a run with a walk, followed by Painter's two run single to right. Bridgette Gilliano's RBI single wrapped the scoring in the inning, and Nevada had a commanding 10-0 lead.

An RBI single from Aaliyah Jenkins followed by a two-run single from Madison Clark put the Pack up 13-0 before Brown closed things out in the fifth.

Stony Brook 4, Nevada 1
Nevada took a one-run lead early in the day's finale, but the Wolf Pack bats went silent for the final five innings while Stony Brook scored four in the sixth to pick up the win.

Herrera doubled with one out in the second, and came around on Charli Hawkins' single to right. But the Pack would manage just four baserunners, all on hits, the rest of the way.

Nevada starter Taryn Irimata retired the first 12 Stony Brook batters before hitting a batter to lead off the fifth. Even so, Irimata managed to get out of the fifth with the shutout intact.

But the sixth would be a different story. The Seawolves loaded the bases with one out, with Blake Craft coming on for Irimata with one on and one out, and Alyssa Costello's single to right-center brought in a pair to put Stony Brook ahead, 2-1. Craft got a groundout to second for the second out of the inning, and looked to be able to limit the damage until a fielding error by Gilliano at second on a ball off the bat of Catherine Anne Kupinski allowed two unearned runs to score.

Nevada got a leadoff single from Aaliyah Jenkins in the seventh, but Stony Brook pitcher Ashton Melaas retired the next three batters in order to wrap the complete game.

Craft was charged with three runs, just one earned, and fell to 4-1 with the loss.
