Albuquerque, New Mexico – Nevada Swim and Dive secured a decisive victory over the University of New Mexico, winning 209-89. The 209 points that the Wolf Pack (4-0, 2-0 MW) scored are the program's most in a dual meet since January 30, 2016, against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.The Wolf Pack showcased their strength and depth, claiming top spots across various events. They are now 6-0 overall against New Mexico.
The meet opened with a win in the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Von Seggren, Mihalic, Smith and Parks clocked a 1:44.79. Enkhkhuslen Batbayar led the distance events, winning the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:23.83.
Sara Mihalic continued Nevada's winning momentum, claiming first in the 200-yard freestyle 1:53.79. Molly Von Seggern triumphed in the 100-yard backstroke 56.89. Abby Parks took the 100-yard breaststroke title in 1:06.24.
Yasmin Perry excelled in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:02.07. On the diving board, Bailey Heydra earned first place in the 3-meter event with 311.55 points, followed by Lucia Gabino, who scored 300.53. Batbayar showcased her versatility with a win in the 100-yard freestyle 51.29, while Keira Allott captured first in the 200-yard backstroke 2:06.11.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Louise Jones topped the podium with 2:26.11. Noelle Harvey clinched victory in the 500-yard freestyle 5:10.89, and Perry added another win in the 100-yard butterfly 55.19. Heydra also secured the 1-meter diving event with 286.28 points right behind her Lucia with 266.25.
Mihalic completed a successful day with a win in the 400-yard individual medley 4:33.14. The meet concluded with Nevada A's victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay, the team of Batbayar,Parks, Floate, and Ferris finishing at 1:34.94.
The Wolf Pack will look to carry this momentum forward as they prepare for their next competition. The swim team will travel to compete at the Phil Hansel invitational in Houston, Texas and dive will be competing at the USC Diving Invitational.
