Laramie, Wyoming — The Nevada Volleyball team wrapped up its 2024 season with a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Wyoming at the UniWyo Sports Complex. The match scores were 25-22, 25-15, 7-25, 13-25, and 9-15 in favor of Wyoming. Nevada concluded the season with an overall record of 12-17 and 5-13 in Mountain West Conference play.
Gabby McLaughlin and McKenna Dressel led the Wolf Pack offense with 10 kills each, combining for nearly half of Nevada's total kills in the match. Sia Liilii added eight kills to the effort, contributing a steady presence at the net. Setter Tehya Maeva facilitated the offense with 22 assists, while Sierra Bernard added 12 assists to provide strong distribution throughout the contest.
On defense, libero Kinsley Singleton anchored the back row with 11 digs, providing stability in serve receive and defensive coverage. McLaughlin also contributed nine digs, complementing her offensive output. Despite their efforts, Wyoming's dominant performance at the net proved to be the difference. The Cowgirls recorded 23 total blocks to Nevada's 12, consistently stifling the Wolf Pack's attacking rhythm. Offensively, Wyoming's Paige Lauterwasser delivered a standout performance with 20 kills on a .375 hitting percentage.
Nevada finished the match with 42 kills compared to Wyoming's 54, while also posting 41 digs to Wyoming's 56. The Wolf Pack battled through the five-set thriller, but Wyoming's defensive presence at the net and efficient offense ultimately secured their victory. Despite the loss, Nevada showcased growth and resilience, setting a foundation to build upon heading into the 2025 season. Although the season ended with a loss, the Wolf Pack demonstrated significant growth throughout the year. With several strong individual performances in their final game, Nevada will look to build on this season's experience as they prepare for next season.
