HOUSTON, Texas – Nevada Swim concluded the Phill Hansel Invitational in strong fashion on Day 3, delivering stellar performances across the board and showcasing the team's growing momentum.
Key Achievements
The team delivered 21 Nevada all-time top-10 swims throughout the meet, showcasing exceptional depth and talent.
Nevada also broke two school records during the competition, rewriting the program's history in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay.
With the Phill Hansel Invitational complete, Nevada looks ahead to its next competition, buoyed by the confidence gained from a meet filled with historic performances.
Day 3 Event Highlights
In the 1650-yard freestyle, freshman Keira Allott impressed with a debut time of 16:35.02, earning a second-place finish at the meet and marking her first-ever swim in the event for Nevada with an NCAA "B Cut", ranking her 3rd in the Nevada All-Time Top 10 in the Mile and 6th with the 1,000 lead off split.
The 200-yard backstroke saw Scarlett Ferris excel with a fifth-place finish in 1:58.03, her fastest lifetime performance. Inking her name in the history books was Noelle Harvey with a 1:59.34 placing her 10th on the Nevada All-Time Top 10 list. Teammates Riley Parker (1:59.76) and Molly Von Seggern (2:00.45) both strengthened Nevada's dominance in the event.
In the 100-yard freestyle, Nevada made history as Evie Floate, Enkhkhuslen Batbayar, and Abby Parks each broke the 50-second barrier, marking the first time in program history 3 members of the team have been sub-50.0 in the same season. Parks achieved this time in the lead off of the 400 Free relay with 49.92, Floate in the 100 Free final with a 49.88 time, and Batbayar also in the 100 Free final with a 49.96.
In the 200-yard breaststroke, Sara Mihalic continued her strong meet with a seventh-place finish in 2:15.50 in the A-final, showcasing her consistency across multiple events. Louise Jones (2:18.93 ), Anslee Dickerson (2:20.35) and Henley Kerr (2:21.42) also contributed critical points to Nevada's final tally.
The 200-yard butterfly was highlighted by Yasmin Perry and Evie Wood, who both delivered top-10 finishes at the meet. Perry swam a 2:02.01, solidifying her status as one of the top performers in the event, while Wood (2:05.62) rounded out the session with another solid performance.
Day 2 Event Highlights
The highlight of the day came from the 200-yard medley relay team of Scarlett Ferris, Sara Mihalic, Yasmin Perry, and Evie Floate, who shattered the Nevada school record with a time of 1:38.18, claiming first place.
In individual events, Yasmin Perry delivered an impressive performance in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a 53.45 to secure second place and her second-fastest lifetime swim.
Audrey Bull excelled in the 400-yard individual medley, finishing 13th with a time of 4:24.55, marking her second-best lifetime performance. Teammate Sara Mihalic also impressed in the event, finishing 11th with a 4:21.66.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Enkhkhuslen Batbayar made waves by posting a 1:46.32, the third-fastest time in Nevada history, to win the event. Coming in second place for the Wolf Pack was Senior Noelle Harvey with a 1:50.08, a time that would have placed her in the Top 16 for the 2024 Mountain West Championships. Keira Allott (1:50.97) and Riley Parker (1:51.61) delivered strong midseason swims, further bolstering Nevada's performance in the event.
Sara Mihalic tied for fifth all-time on Nevada's Top 10 in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:01.73, earning ninth place overall. Anslee Dickerson swam a lifetime best, finishing 13th at 1:03.51, while Abby Parks and Evie Floate contributed excellent midseason efforts.
The 100-yard backstroke saw Scarlett Ferris post her second-best lifetime performance with a 51.85 to finish second. Molly Von Seggern achieved a personal best of 54.71, moving up to ninth on Nevada's all-time list. Riley Parker rounded out the event with a solid swim after competing in the 200 freestyle.
Nevada will look to close the meet strong on the final day of competition, continuing their push for more record-breaking moments.
Day 1 Event Highlights
The day began with a commanding performance in the 200-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Scarlett Ferris, Abby Parks, Noelle Harvey, and Evie Floate set a new school record, clocking in at 1:30.66 to claim first place. This marks Nevada's fastest time in this event to date.
In the 500-yard freestyle, Enkhkhuslen Batbayar swam to victory with a time of 4:45.23, now standing as the third fastest performer in Nevada's history. Freshman Keira Allott also shone, placing fourth with a personal best of 4:47.92, moving her to sixth all-time for the program.
Sara Mihalic's strong showing in the 200-yard individual medley earned her a time of 2:00.78, securing third place and placing her 10th in Nevada history for the event.
The 50-yard freestyle saw a trio of Wolf Pack swimmers make their mark. Scarlett Ferris finished second with a time of 22.67, making her the second fastest all-time for Nevada. Evie Floate tied for third all-time with 22.72, and Abby Parks' 22.83 earned her fifth all-time.
The day concluded with the 400-yard medley relay, where Scarlett Ferris, Sara Mihalic, Yasmin Perry, and Enkhkhuslen Batbayar clocked in at 3:36.22, the second-fastest relay in Nevada program history. In the 100-yard backstroke, Scarlett Ferris' standout performance with the time of 52.11. Ferris recorded a time that would have secured her an invitation to the 2024 NCAA Championships, underscoring her elite caliber. Joining her in the record books, Riley Parker moved up to sixth all-time in program history with her impressive swim with a time of 54.13, while Molly Von Seggern claimed the 10th all-time spot with a strong showing of 54.87.
After the first day of competition, Nevada sits in third place with 268 points, trailing behind the University of Houston (416) and Rice University (288). The Wolf Pack will return to action tomorrow, looking to build on their stellar Day 1 performance.
