RENO, Nev. - Nevada Soccer returned home after a long stretch of road games, hosting Air Force and dropping a close match with a final score of 1-0.
The only goal of the game came in the 11th minute when Air Force's Kendall Rippley scored. Despite giving up the one goal in the first half,
Alyssa Szarlacki held off the Falcons until the break, recording six major saves to keep the match close.
The Wolf Pack's best opportunity of the first half came when
Gianna Hall got off a shot in the 39th minute that just barely missed to the left of the goal.
Nevada continued to put in work on the offensive side and get good looks, including two from
Emily Rich. The first in the 71st minute when the ball went to the right and the second in the 73rd minute when she broke free, but the shot went wide left.Â
Another opportunity came in the 75th minute when
Caly Ah Soon delivered a perfect ball into the center for
Eva Wees, but it was saved by Air Force's goalie.Â
Three more major opportunities came within the final two minutes of the game, but each one came up empty.
Szarlacki ended the night with seven saves after shutting down the Falcons in the second half.Â
Nevada will remain at home to host Colorado College on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 1 PM, on Senior Day.Â
