Reno, Nev. – The Nevada Swim and Dive team continued their winning ways, defeating Fresno State 183-117 at Lombardi Pool. This victory improves the Wolf Pack's all-time record against the Bulldogs to an impressive 15-1, with Nevada remaining undefeated at home. Fresno State's lone win came last year, but Nevada reclaimed their dominance in this year's matchup.
The meet kicked off with a powerful showing in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Scarlett Ferris, Sara Mihalic, Yasmin Perry, and Evie Floate secured the first win of the day, clocking a time of 1:41.22. Notably, Ferris, a key member of the top 200 medley relay team in the Mountain West Conference, recorded the fastest 50-yard backstroke leadoff split in the conference, highlighting her standout performance.
Keira-Lee Allott dominated the distance events, capturing first place in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:23.74. In the 200-yard freestyle, Enkhkhuslen Batbayar followed with another Nevada win, touching the wall in 1:49.76. Ferris added to her team's momentum by winning the 100-yard backstroke in 54.35.
Yasmin Perry secured a top finish in the 200-yard butterfly, winning in 2:03.24. Nevada kept up the pace in the sprint events as Abby Parks earned first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.73.
On the diving boards, Bailey Heydra delivered a standout performance, winning the 3-meter event with a score of 348.75. Right behind her, Lucia Gabino claimed second place with 271.80, further solidifying Nevada's control of the competition.
Batbayar secured another first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.82, while Ferris extended Nevada's lead by winning the 200-yard backstroke in 2:03.06. Allott continued her strong showing by taking the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:03.92.
Yasmin Perry added her second individual win of the meet in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall at 55.40. In the 1-meter diving competition, Heydra once again led the field, scoring 305.40 to win the event, with Gabino in second with a score of 269.85. Mihalic secured a win in the 200-yard IM in 2:07.00.
The Wolf Pack wrapped up the meet with a dominant performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay. The team of Parks, Batbayar, Ferris, and Noelle Harvey finished with a winning time of 3:27.58, sealing Nevada's victory.
Nevada will return to action on November 9 at New Mexico, as they look to continue their undefeated season.
