RENO, Nev. - Nevada Soccer played host to Wyoming in the first of a four-game home stand, taking the tie with the Cowgirls, 0-0.
The first half was a defensive battle as neither team got many chances at the goal. It was an even game through the first 45 as each team had a shot on goal and save a piece.
Nevada's best opportunity of the first half came in the 32nd minute when
Isabella Srodes launched it above the goalie's reach, but the ball bounced off the crossbar and away from the goal.
The second half saw more action as both teams turned up the pressure, looking for the right chance to take the lead. Nevada took five shots in the second, the best coming from
Penny Murphy in the 72nd minute, but it landed in the arms of Wyoming's goalie.
With time ticking down, Nevada found itself in a great position to take the lead in the 89th minute when
Trinity Sandridge was centered and took the shot, but it just barely missed to the left.
Alyssa Szarlacki ended the night with three saves, and got her third shut-out of the season.
Nevada will stay at home to host Colorado State on October 20th at 1 PM.
