RENO, Nev. - Gianna Hall, a member of the Panama National Football Team and the North Dakota women's soccer team, has committed to Nevada soccer for the 2024 season.
Hall was called up to the Panama National Football Team in June 2023 before joining North Dakota for the fall season. She is set to play with Nevada starting in the spring of 2024.
"When we recruited Gianna from the portal, we saw a versatile player who can play both the midfielder and the forward positions. She has competed at high levels both nationally and internationally," head coach Vanessa Valentine said. "She's not only someone who will give us veteran experience, but also someone with tremendous character that has the same values as our program. We are thrilled to welcome Gianna into our Pack."
Hall accumulated two shots in 10 matches with one start in 135 minutes on the pitch during the 2023 fall season. The Sacramento, California, native was instrumental in North Dakota winning or drawing four out of its first six games of the 2023 season.
Prior to arriving in North Dakota, Hall was a force for Sierra College and guided the Wolverines to CCCAA Regional Finals. Scoring 11 goals and dishing out 10 assists in 21 matches in 2022, Hall was also named to the President's Honor Roll and was an Academic All-American. She starred for Rio Americano High School prior to jump-starting her collegiate career.
With Hall's signing, Nevada has completed its transfer class with three Division I transfers for the spring semester. Hall joins midfielder Cassidy Bell (Marshall) and goalkeeper Mia Collins (Mizzou) for Nevada's 2024 spring season.
Nevada soccer is coming off one of the best turnaround seasons in program history under Valentine's first season. Winning just three games the previous season, the Pack collected their most wins since 2015 with six and qualified for its first Mountain West Tournament since 2013.
