The Pack, who are currently tied for third in the Mountain West with a 4-2 start in conference play, are expected to welcome over 5,000 young students from Northern Nevada. Last year's "When I Grow Up" game had an attendance of 5,656, the second-largest attended Nevada women's basketball game in program history.
General ticket holders who do not have an affiliation with a school will be able to sit in the lower-level, floor sections of Lawlor Events Center for Tuesday's game. School seating assignments can be viewed on the map. Tickets start at just $5 for youth and $7 for adults online.
Tuesday's game will be available to watch on Nevada Sports Net/Mountain West Network and available to listen on KPLY 630 AM. INCREDIBLE IZZY
Nevada women's basketball freshman guard Izzy Sullivan was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week by the conference Monday for the third time in her collegiate career. Sullivan was instrumental in Nevada's 2-0 week with wins at Utah State and against Fresno State, averaging 8.5 points per game. The Sammamish, Washington, native dished out a career-high five assists in Nevada's nail-biting win against Fresno State. Currently leading Nevada in 3-point shooting at 47.2 percent, Sullivan is currently second in the Mountain West in 3-pointers made and 3-point shooting in conference games. She is third on the team in scoring with a 8.5 points per game mark.
EARLY WORK
Nevada has two freshmen in Dymonique Maxie and Izzy Sullivan that are climbing the freshmen ranks in the NCAA Era. Maxie needs just two more steals to move into the top 10 for most steals by a Nevada freshman. Maxie needs 30 more steals to claim the Nevada Freshmen Steals Record set by Carissa Meyer (1994-95). Sullivan is currently fourth among Nevada freshmen in the NCAA Era in made 3-pointers in a single season. She needs 19 more to claim the Nevada Freshmen 3-Pointers Record set by current Nevada teammate Audrey Roden (2021-22).
ROAD WARRIORS
Nevada's top performances in the 2023-24 Mountain West season thus far have come away from Reno. The Pack is currently 3-0 on the road in conference play, already passing its road win total from last season. The defense has been the key, holding its opponents to just 52.7 points per game in those contests. Nevada has also had a turnover margin of 8.3 in those games.
MILESTONE MARKERS
Nevada has had a trio of Pack players who recently obtained career milestones. Junior guard
Audrey Roden and senior guard
Victoria Davis recently hit the century mark for career steals. Roden (four steals) and Davis (two steals) both obtained their 100th career steals Dec. 21 against BYU. Davis also surpassed the 500 career points mark Jan. 10 against Air Force. Senior forward
Lexie Givens' first rebound of the game Dec. 30 against New Mexico was her 500th career rebound. Givens collected her 100th career steal Jan. 20 against Fresno State. Roden's first assist of the game Jan. 17 at Utah State gave her 100 career assists. Fifth year guard/forward
Kaylen Banwareesingh needs just 19 more assists to get 100 career assists and 15 more steals to obtain 100 career steals.
THE GREAT GIVENS
Nevada's
Lexie Givens has been one of Nevada's most consistent players in the last four years. Givens, who averaged 10.5 points per game last season, was Nevada's leading rebounder in 2022-23 with a 6.4 rebounds per game mark. She began the year by accumulating eight steals in the season opener, the fourth-most by a Nevada player in a single game in the NCAA Era. Givens accumulated a career-high five blocks Nov. 25 against Central Arkansas, good for the top 10 in a single game in program history en route to being named to the University of Denver Classic All-Tournament Team. She recently obtained her first
double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds Dec. 21 against BYU. She collected her 500th career rebound Dec. 30 against New Mexico and her 100th career steal Jan. 20 against Fresno State.
SCOUTING COLORADO STATE
Colorado State won its first eight games of the season and is off to a 12-5 start. After winning its last three Mountain West games, the Rams suffered a heartbreaking loss at Wyoming Saturday 67-63.
The Rams are led by 2023 Mountain West Player of the Year and All-American guard McKenna Hofschild. Currently on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Award Midseason Watch List, Hofschild averages over 24 points per game and leads the nation in assists and assist/turnover ratio.
