Nevada dominates singles slate at Beach Winter Invite

Box Score LONG BEACH, Calif. – Wolf Pack women's tennis wins seven of nine singles matches on the final day of the Beach Tennis Winter Invitational.

Following Saturday's slate of matches being postponed due to heavy rainfall, the Wolf Pack featured in two sessions of doubles play plus a full singles session on Sunday. Nevada faced off against Long Beach State for their first set of doubles matches, only picking up one win. Continuing Friday's trend of successful newcomers, Marlene Foerster and Léa Cakarevic paired to take down Doga Akyurek and Hana Becirovic Novak 6-3.

The Wolf Pack's woes followed them to the second round of doubles against CSUN, again only winning one of their five matches. Amahée Charrier and Anastasia Luneva won a thrilling 7-5 match over the Matador's Sasha Turchak and Yuliia Zhytelna.

Singles play proved to be much more successful for Nevada, winning seven of their nine matches against CSUN. Charrier once again defeated Turchak, this time 6-2, 7-5. Luneva also picked up her second win of the day with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 victory over Emma Moratalla Sanz. Cakarevic and Foerster both won their singles matches, each finishing the weekend with a winning record overall. Cakarevic notched her fourth win of the invite with a 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 win over Tallia Harper. Foerster's third win of the weekend came against Angela Ho, 6-1, 7-6 (4). Gabriella Charalampidi defeated Cindy Ung 3-6, 7-5, [10-8], utilizing the tiebreak set for her first win of the spring season. Lou-Anne Guerbert also picked up her first spring win with her 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory against Victoria Santibanez Luna. Rounding out the Pack's best session of the weekend, Kennedy Robinson won her second singles match of the tournament with her 6-1, 6-4 win over Nicole West.

Due to Saturday's postponement, Nevada's singles matches against Pacific were not played.
