BOISE, Idaho - Nevada women's basketball continues Mountain West play on the road Wednesday, traveling to Boise State for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff.
Wednesday's game will be available to watch on the Mountain West Network and available to listen on KPLY 630 AM. Emmy award-winning broadcaster Larry Burnett will be on the radio play-by-play once again for Nevada women's basketball, where fans can also listen online through the Varsity Network.
INCREDIBLE IZZY
Nevada women's basketball freshman guard
Izzy Sullivan has hit the ground running in her first season with the Pack. Sullivan, a two-time Mountain West Freshman of the Week award winner, has a pair of 20-point games and is coming off a career-high 22 points in Nevada's Mountain West opener Dec. 30 against New Mexico. Currently leading Nevada in 3-point shooting, Sullivan joins teammate
Audrey Roden as one of only two Nevada players to earn multiple Mountain West Player of the Week. She is the first Nevada freshman in the
Amanda Levens Era to register multiple 20-point games in her first collegiate season.
PASSING THE TORCH
Nevada is carrying the tradition of having outstanding freshman guards. After
Audrey Roden won three Mountain West Freshman of the Week awards en route to All-Mountain West Freshman Team in 2021-22,
Izzy Sullivan is having similar success. Sullivan snatched her second Mountain West Freshman of the Week award Jan. 2 after dropping a career-high 22 points against New Mexico in Nevada's conference opener. Her 22 points are the most by a Nevada freshman in a Mountain West opener in the
Amanda Levens Era.
MILESTONE MARKERS
Nevada has had a trio of Pack players who recently obtained career milestones. Junior guard
Audrey Roden and senior guard
Victoria Davis recently hit the century mark for career steals. Roden (four steals) and Davis (two steals) both obtained their 100th career steals Dec. 21 against BYU. Senior forward
Lexie Givens' first rebound of the game Dec. 30 against New Mexico was her 500th career rebound. Davis is just four points away from scoring her 500th career point. Givens is five steals away from cracking 100 career steals. Roden is six assists away from dishing out her 100th career assist.
SWEET STEALS
Nevada women's basketball has made getting steals and forcing turnovers a part of their early identity. The Pack are currently 10th in the nation and first in the Mountain West in steals, averaging 12.9 steals per game. Nevada is also in the top 25 in the nation in turnover margin with an average of 6.62. The Pack opened the season with 23 steals Nov. 9, the fourth-most by a Wolf Pack squad in a single game in the NCAA Era. They recently collected 24 steals Dec. 16 against Stanislaus State, the third-most by a Nevada team in a single game in the NCAA Era. Guards
Audrey Roden and
Victoria Davis also obtained the 100 career steals mark earlier this year.
SCOUTING BOISE STATE
Boise State is looking to rebound after losing its Mountain West opener at Wyoming Saturday. The Broncos have won games through their defense, holding opponents to just 55.9 points per game. Boise State outrebounds its opponents by an average of seven boards per game and nearly grab 42 rebounds per game.
Natalie Pasco leads the Broncos in scoring with 13.6 points per game. Abby Muse anchors the Boise State defense, coming down with 9.9 rebounds per game. Muse is also the nation's and the Mountain West's leader in blocked shots with 52.
