LONG BEACH, Calif. - Nevada tallied four victories, all by Wolf Pack newcomers, on day one of the Beach Tennis Winter Invite.

This afternoon, Eight members of the Pack took on Pacific in doubles play and Long Beach State in singles to open the spring season. The only Nevada victory in doubles play came from Freshman
Mia Miranda and Junior transfer Léa Cakarevic, the duo defeated Pacific's Megan Carmichael and Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle, 6-2. The Pack were only able to win one game in each of the other three doubles matches losing 6-1 in all three.

The singles slate proved to be more successful for Nevada, with three wins coming against Long Beach State opponents. Wichita State transfer
Marlene Foerster took down Doga Akyurek in a thrilling third-set tiebreaker, winning 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (4). Freshmen
Kennedy Robinson took down her opponent Paulina Franco 6-2, 6-3. Wrapping up the first day, Cakarevic defeated Hana Becirovic Novak, 6-3, 6-4, completing her sweep for day one.

Nevada returns to Long Beach State tomorrow for day two of the hidden dual. The Pack is scheduled to play Long Beach State in doubles at 11 A.M., followed by CSUN in singles.
