RENO, Nev. - The Pack wrapped up their one and only home meet of the 2023-24 season, coming out on top, 153-84. Nevada secured the first place finish in 11 out of the 13 events.
Nevada secures their first conference win of the season with a victory over the Lobos. The seniors excelled in their final home meet of their collegiate career, with
Frederica Kizek dominating in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:57.98 and the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.63.
Colette Berkenfield had the first place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.76
and second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.34.
The Pack secured the top three spots in the first event of the day, the 400 medley relay.
Scarlett Ferris,
Sara Mihalic,
Yasmin Perry, and
Colette Berkenfield had the first place finish with a time of 3:55.03.
In addition to Kizek's dominant freestyle events,
Olivia Stevenson and
Audrey Bull secured the first and second place finishes in the 200 freestyle, with Stevenson finishing at 1:58.18 and Bull at 1:59.73.
Sara Mihalic went 2:14.45 in the 200 IM and 2:29.55 in the 200 breaststroke, securing the first place finish in both. Other first place finishes came from
Yasmin Perry in the 200 butterfly (2:09.69) and
Katelyn Buono in the 200 backstroke (2:05.27).
The divers had an outstanding performance, with senior
Melissa Mirafuentes topping the leaderboard in the 1-meter with a score of 307.95 and in the 3-meter with a score of 304.58. In the 1-meter,
Lucia Gabino followed in second with a score of 280.88,
Dani Griffin in fifth with a score of 220.59, and Madi Simons rounded out the diving in sixth with a score of 201.00. In the 3-meter diving, Mirafuentes secured the top spot, Gabino in second (280.65), Simons in fifth (237.23) and Griffin in sixth (215.55).

The Pack will travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to take on in-state rival UNLV in the Silver State Series on Friday, Jan. 19. Dive will start at 2 p.m. and swim at 5 p.m.
