Box Score BERKELEY, Calif. --- The Wolf Pack began its 2023 fall season last weekend at California. Four members of the Nevada squad made the three-day trip for the Battle in the Bay Qualifier.
 
In the Open Singles draw, Gregoire Valente picked up his first win as a member of the Pack with a 3-6, 6-2, [10-1] win over Saint Mary's Felipe Rincon. Junior Pedro Liborio was the only other Nevada player with a win in the main draw, starting with a victory over California's John Kim 7-5, 6-3. Liborio also defeated Sumir Srivastava of Saint Mary's 7-5, 7-6 (8-6) before dropping his quarterfinal matchup against Derrick Chen of Cal 6-3, 6-2.
 
Freshman Rémy Trégourès was competitive in his loss against fellow freshman Jonathan Irwanto from Cal. Trégourès pushed his first singles match to a third set tiebreaker, losing 7-6 (7-5), 2-6, [9-11] and dropping out of the main draw. Senior Loris Zisswiller also made his season singles debut, falling 3-6, 2-6 to Antreas Djakouris of UC Davis.
 
Outside of the main draw, the Pack won three of its six additional matches, with Valente going 2-0 and Zisswiller picking up his first win of the season.
 
The Wolf Pack lost both of its opening doubles matches. Liborio and Valente paired up to lose 8-5 to Gaels Thibaud Maxant and Mathis Moysan. Zisswiller and Trégourès lost their match 8-2 to Diego Dalisay and Quinn Snyder of Hawaii. On day two, the Pack split its doubles results with Zisswiller and Trégourès defeating St. Mary's pair Felipe Rincon and Paulo Etchecoin 8-6 and Liborio and Valente losing 8-4 to San Francisco's Davide Cortimiglia and Giovanni Bronchetti. On day three, Zisswiller and Trégourès dropped their final doubles match to the same San Francisco duo, also losing 8-4.
