RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's tennis and head coach
Guillaume Tonelli announced the signings of three new additions to the squad for the 2023-24 season Friday.
"Léa Cakarevic was very successful at the University of Indianapolis and will bring a lot of experience on and off the court," said Tonelli. "Marlene Förster is coming to us from Wichita State, where she competed for a well-established and highly recognized program. The quality of her shots is impeccable, and she will add a tremendous amount of power and depth to our team.
Mia Miranda will be an incredible addition to our team. She's played at the highest level of tennis in the United States and comes from a very athletic family, so it will be very fun working with her on and off the court. We cannot wait to get these three started on the court in the fall."

Indianapolis
Playing for Indianapolis the first two seasons of her collegiate career, Cakarevic will join the Wolf Pack in junior standing. During her sophomore season, Cakarevic finished with a 19-6 overall record in singles play and a 13-6 overall record in doubles play. As a team, the UIndy women ended the spring with a 17-6 record and ranked 13
th in the ITA poll after earning their fourth straight Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) crown and being named the top seed and host of one Midwest Regional for the NCAA tournament. Individually, Cakarevic earned All-GLVC First Team honors. At the NCAA tournament, Cakarevic and the Greyhounds saw their season end in the second round to the Drury Panthers, marking the eighth straight year making the tournament.
Marlene Förster, Pforzheim, Germany, Wichita State
Förster will transfer to Nevada from Wichita State in sophomore standing. During her freshman year, she earned a 11-8 record in doubles play, splitting her time playing at Nos. 5 and 6, and an 18-15 record in singles play. Before her start at Wichita State, Förster attended Fritz
-Erler-Schule, an upper secondary school in her hometown of Pforzheim that specializes in business education. She was a member of her high school's tennis team and has experience playing in numerous international events on the junior International Tennis Federation (ITF) circuit. Her most notable finish came in July 2021, where she knocked off a pair of U18 opponents ranked 56
th and 199
th in the world, allowing her to reach the third round of the J3 Neunkirchen, a Germany hosted tournament apart of the ITF World Tennis Tour for U18 players.
Mia Miranda, Estero, Florida, Georgia Connections Academy
Nationally ranked 258
th and 40
th overall in the state of Florida, Miranda will join the Pack in true freshman standing where she recently graduated from Georgia Connections Academy this past spring. Miranda's last time out competing was in the L5 G18 Open in Springfield, Massachusetts in April. In the round of 16, Miranda took her opponent, 188
th nationally ranked Alexandria Warsing before falling in the quarterfinals. Miranda also has a wealth of experience playing internationally in ITF tournaments throughout her career.
