RENO, Nev. - Nevada Athletics Director of Compliance Services Brandon Talbert has been selected to participate in the highly prestigious Annual Athletic Compliance Elite (ACE) Mentoring Program for the 2023-24 athletics year.
"I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to participate in this year's NAAC ACE Mentoring Program," Talbert said. "I believe this program will be a huge step in my growth as a compliance administrator, and I cannot wait to meet the rest of the 2023-23 cohort in Orlando. Also, I want to thank all of the senior administration who signed up to be mentors. They are the embodiment of what it means to be a servant leader; and, without them, this program could not exist."
The Athletics Compliance Elite Mentoring Program is offered each year by the National Association for Athletics Compliance, the professional organization for compliance administrators that falls under the large NACDA umbrella of organizations for athletics administrators.
Individuals who aspire to be selected for the program must complete an application by early April, and selections are made in mid-May. This year, 18 individuals were selected to be part of the esteemed program.
The mentor program pairs a mentee with a senior-level administrator at another institution and is designed to help the mentee learn and continue to enhance their skills in the industry.
The program includes required in-person meetings during the annual NACDA convention, in addition to exclusive webinars, consistent communication between the mentors and the mentees, and a campus visit to the mentor's institution.
Talbert will serve as a mentee this year, and he is paired up with Scott Garrison, the current Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and Life Skills at Gonzaga.
