RENO, Nev. – Nevada Athletics and the Wolf Pack Athletic Association are pleased to announce a generous gift by Mike Richardson of
Bay Equity Home Loans to the Blitz and Starting 5 booster clubs.
Mike '07 and Jade '07 Richardson have been ardent supporters of Nevada Athletics both during and since their undergraduate days at the university. Their philanthropy has greatly benefitted the Reno community, including raising more than $140,000 for Renown Children's Hospital by hosting the Biggest Little Classic, serving as the presenting sponsor since 2020 for Big Chefs Little Galas benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern Nevada, donating 1,000 turkeys during Thanksgiving 2021 to Washoe County school teachers at the Turkeys for Teachers event, and more.
Mike has been voted first place in Reno's Best Individual Mortgage Lender numerous times and annually finds himself in the top 1% of mortgage lenders nationally.
"Mike and Jade have shown time and time again tremendous support for their alma mater in a variety of ways, including their passion for Nevada athletics," Assistant Athletic Director Quinton Conaway said. "We are grateful to have such incredible philanthropic support from our generous community members, and we look forward to this partnership with Mike and his family for years to come."
The Blitz and Starting 5 provide critical annual support to Wolf Pack football and men's basketball, respectively. Each booster club supplies its respective program with essential funds that support nutrition, equipment, travel, and other integral resources that make a direct impact on the lives and experiences of student-athletes while at Nevada. Both the Blitz and Starting 5 have unique benefits exclusive to their membership, such as VIP access to pre-game areas, unique apparel gifts, and more.
