Nevada splits first day at Mountain West Tournament

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Nevada splits the day against Colorado State and San Diego State, Thursday afternoon. 

Nevada 11 - Colorado State 0

Nevada sets a new school record for most shutouts in a season with a win over Colorado State. 

Blake Craft played a complete five-innings game in the Pack circle. Craft gave up three hits and strikeout two players to secure the win. 

Nevada put one run on the board after Hawkins's ground out drove Bridgette Gilliano across the plate. 

Gilliano, in the top of the second, doubled to center-field and scored Chelie Senini and Hailey Prahm for a 3-0 lead. Hawkins continued the offense with a single to left field to score Gilliano for a 4-0 lead. 

In the top of the fifth, Hannah Di Genova came in to pinch hit for Prahm and hit a deep single to left field that scored Madison Clark. Nevada's inning continued with Gilliano reaching first in a fielder's choice, which scored Andrea Lira and Bradianne Glover for a 7-0 score. Hawkins, with another ground out, drove Senini across the plate. Aaliyah Jenkins sealed the game with a three-run home run for an 11-0 Wolf Pack win. 

Nevada 4 - San Diego State 5

Nevada falls against San Diego State in a battle to the seventh inning, 5-4. 

Carley Brown was the starter in the circle for 4.1 innings before Tyra Clary came in to play. Brown gave up six hits, five runs, and two walks, while Clary had three hits under her 1.2 innings played. 

Nevada jumped on the scoreboard first with a two-run home run by Aaliyah Jenkins in the top of the third. The Aztecs put the game within one in the bottom of the fourth before taking the 5-2 lead in the fifth inning. 

Jenkins scored on a grounded out by Herrera after her second triple of the season for a 5-3 score in the top of the sixth. 

Charli Hawkins cut the deficit of the score to 5-4 on a single through left-center that scored Tatum Maytorena
