SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Nevada dropped the doubleheader against Santa Clara Wednesday afternoon.
Game 1:
Nevada falls short against the Broncos, 2-1, on the first game of the doubleheader.
Haylee Engelbrecht hit an RBI single in the top of the sixth and scored Aaliyah Jenkins from third. Jenkins got on base after a double to the left side. The hit was Jenkins's eighth double of the season.
Bridgette Gilliano and Maile Olsen tallied one hit for the Pack offense. Gilliano continues to be perfect at the base, as she stole her 17th base of the season.
In the circle, Carley Brown threw a complete game. Brown gave up two hits, two runs, and strikeout three Broncos players.
Game 2:
Nevada and Santa Clara went scoreless until the bottom of the sixth to fall short against the Broncos 1-0.
Brooklyn Trujillo-Quintana started in the circle for the Pack for four innings. Trujillo-Quintana gave up three hits, no runs, and one strikeout before Tyra Clary stepped in for relief.
Clary allowed three hits, one run, and four strikeouts in two innings played.
In the offense, the Pack got on base with a walk by Aaliyah Jenkins and three hit-by-pitch by Charli Hawkins, Gabby Herrera, and Haylee Engelbrecht but didn't come across the plate.
Madison Clark reached first on a fielder's choice and recorded a stolen base. Jenkins after a walk, stole second in the top of the first.
