FRESNO, Calif. - Nevada battled for 10 innings against Fresno State but fell short, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
The Pack scored early in the top of the first on a throwing error by the Bulldogs pitcher after a sacrifice bunt by
Haley Painter to drive Senini across.
The Bulldogs took the lead with a run in the bottom of the third. Nevada tied the game on a single to shortstop by
Aaliyah Jenkins, scoring Painter from third.
The Pack and the Bulldogs took the long run to a 10th-inning game, where the host team scored a walk-off double to close the game 3-2.
Carley Brown was the starter in the circle for the Pack. Brown gave up five hits, two runs, and strikeout two in five innings played before
Tyra Clary stepped in. Clary closed the game with 4.1 innings played and gave up five hits, a run, and one strikeout.
Madison Clark recorded three hits in the game in five at-bats appearances.
Charli Hawkins had two hits, while
Chelie Senini,
Haley Painter,
Gabby Herrera, and
Haylee Engelbrecht tallied a hit each.
